Therese Borchard on her BeyondBlue blog has spoken to Patrick Tracey about his book 'Stalking Irish Madness, Searching for the Roots of My Family's Schizophrenia'. The book has won the 2009 Ken Book Award from the US National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Patrick describes his family as a portrait in dual diagnosis and points out an important difference in perception of the two sides of the issue "...the idea was that we alkies sort of brought this on, whereas schizophrenics had it done to them...".
