National Comorbidity Guidelines - NDARC Pilot Project
Alison Bell has been contracted by NDARC undertake the piloting and dissemination of the National Clinical Guidelines. This is a two-stage process.
STAGE ONE - Piloting the National Comorbidity Guidelines
The piloting of the National Comorbidity Guidelines will involve recruiting approximately 20 NGO AOD agencies nationally that provide a cross section of the services from rural and metropolitan areas.
The sample for the pilot will include a cross section of AOD services to ensure representation of client groups such as Indigenous, CALD, youth, women, inpatient and outpatient.
Peak NGO AOD or relevant bodies throughout Australia have been approached to assist with the provision of the list of AOD agencies within their state or territory. All agencies will be emailed inviting participation in the piloting of the National Comorbidity Guidelines. Depending on the level of response from the agencies, a sample of the respondents will be taken.
Those agencies selected to participate in the pilot will receive hard copies of the document along with a questionnaire to gain their feedback. Agencies will also receive a phone call from Alison Bell to gather further information about their views on the National Comorbidity Guidelines.
Pilot agencies will have 6 weeks to respond to the survey. The feedback gathered from the agencies will be taken into consideration in the finalising of the National Comorbidity Guidelines.
STAGE TWO - Dissemination of the National Comorbidity Guidelines
Once the Guidelines have been completed and signed off by the Department of Health and Ageing, they will be disseminated throughout Australia by a bulk mail out.
A one-day training seminar on the use of the National Comorbidity Guidelines will be conducted in each of the capital cities in the states and territories.
