NCETA report 'Alcohol & Other Drugs, Mental Health & Comorbidity: A Training Review'
Ann Roche and Ken Pidd state in the new NCETA "A Workforce Development Checklist for the AOD field "There is increasing interest in workforce development (WFD) in the alcohol and other drugs field. Unless workforce development is tackled effectively the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) field will fail to flourish and its ability to provide optimal service delivery at the level of prevention, policy or clinical care will be under continual threat. The checklist provided here offers a quick overview of some of the key issues that fall under the umbrella of WFD."
This report is the first in a new series from NCETA on workforce development. Various aspects of WFD are explored in the individual reports in this series. Click here to view a copy of this report. Hard copies of the publication are also available, and include a CD ROM 'Australian Training Courses Database', which details both accredited and non-accredited training available in each state and territory. Another great resource for the AOD sector from NCETA developed in response to the increasing interest in the area of workforce development. The reader will get a quick overview of some of the key issues. The authors are keen to see that development of the AOD workforce is effectively tackled and that the sector continues to provide optimal service delivery.
