The New Zealand Ministry of Health believes that the workforce is at the heart of mental health and addiction services and the provision of better mental health and addiction services.
Tauawhitia te Wero (Embracing the Challenge - National mental health and addiction workforce development plan 2006-2009) outlines the plan to strategically achieve workforce changes, aims to reflect the needs of the current workforce and provide a strategic focus for changes required to achieve the workforce needed to deliver future mental health and addiction services.
